MSys Empowers Bank with Data Recovery Capabilities with Docker Volume Plugins
The client, founded in the 1800s and headquartered at Charlotte, North Carolina, is a United States-based bank. The client is spread throughout the U.S, employing over 30,000 people and generating a revenue of over 10 billion U.S. dollars.
The client’s product development team’s vision aligns with agile and cutting edge business practices. Therefore, they already had a DevOps best practices in place; and, leveraged Docker Containers for streamlining the workflows. The hitch with Docker Containers is that it stores every new file on an underlying writable Container layer by default. If the container was to be lost, they risked losing all the mission-critical data. And this made the client uncomfortable.
To overcome issues of managing the Docker plugin, MSys Docker engineers leveraged G.O. programing language (GOLang). This is because Docker itself is built in GOLang. Using it, they successfully installed the required plugin. Thus, the client was empowered to integrate volumes of data with external resources like storage boxes, appliances, etc.
